Anita Larkin is represented by Defiance Gallery, Sydney. Using collected domestic objects, casting parts of the human body in bronze, and beeswax, making felted forms, and materially transforming salvaged broken objects, her sculptures question repair and brokenness, playfully disrupting the familiar.
Larkin graduated from Sydney College of The Arts in 1993 and is currently studying Doctorate of Creative Arts at The University of Wollongong. Her works are held in public collections such as Wollongong Art Gallery, Wollongong City Council and The Australian War Memorial Art Collection. Group shows include Sculpture by the Sea, The Wynne Prize AGNSW, UWS Acquisitive Sculpture Award, The Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize, The Blake Prize, The Tamworth Textile Triennial and The Beijing International Art Biennale. Co-ordinator of The Tinkerage, Larkin is a sessional lecturer at the National Art School.
