Artist Type Professional
I graduated in Painting from Canberra School of Art in 1979, and became a landscape artist. The old ranges of the Monaro, so humanlike, were my inspiration.
Now, in Gerringong, I respond to new, exciting landscape, full of colour

About
Nature-inspired. Mainly landscapes or seascapes, but including studies of trees, grass, water, clouds etc. Also the human body.
The Australian landscape - so old - features worn down hills, like bellies or buttocks, and ranges like spines. Brown sunburnt hills liken to animal pelts, once you get away from the coast.
In Central Australia the red earth is scarred and wrinkled, but rich with ochre colours.
All parts of the Australian landscape are wonderful to paint, draw, and explore.

Biography
Born in Sydney, I studied Science at the University of Sydney, graduating in Physics and Applied Maths. I married an officer in the RAAF and moved to Newcastle, then Penang in Malaysia, where our first boy was born. We moved again to Canberra, and had a second child, another boy, and where my husband left the RAAF for the Public Service
In Canberra I went to the Canberra School of Art, graduating in Painting. I have been painting and exhibiting ever since.
But I also started my Graduate Diploma of Education and after graduating ended up as a part-time maths tutor at the University of Canberra.
Now retired from teaching, I paint full time.
