Location Wingecarribee Southern Highlands
Artist Type Semi Professional
I work in a variety of media, printmaking, pastel, scratchboard, watercolour and oils. My subject matter is mainly animals of all types including commissions for pet portraits.
A deep appreciation of, and concern for, the natural world provides the inspiration for my art practice. Much of my work highlights the interactions and relationships of animals with each other and within the environment . I hope that my work can encourage awareness and understanding of the natural world.
Printmaking has become an integral part of my art making repertoire over the past 10 years as I explore various print making process and techniques to discover the optimum media to complement each subject.
From a very early age animals, the natural world and drawing have been major interests. Throughout a long teaching career I continued to share and promote these interests and completed a Graduate Diploma in Expressive and performing Arts (focusing on Visual Arts) Since leaving that career I have been able to dedicate much more time to my art practice, taking part in many workshops and courses to develop and hone new skills and techniques.
I have had two solo exhibitions and have contributed to many group and joint exhibitions. I have participated in the Southern Highlands Art trail for the last 6 years. My works can be found in many private collections around the world.
