Artist Type Semi Professional

I am a feltmaker practitioner and exhibitor fashioning one-off garments or art pieces from natural fibres combining sustainable principles with ingenuity, craftsmanship and originality. Old craft, new product.

  • About

Colour and texture inspire original creations of very wearable “art-to-wear” appealing to consumer demand for environmentally responsible design and innovation ie. “slow fashion” to rail against cheap mass produced “fast” throwaway fashion. Rejigging, dyeing and reinventing fabrics into garments is also a passion of mine.

  • Biography

I am grounded in the arts as a professional occupational therapist with a Creative Arts Diploma. I am a spinner, weaver, quiltmaker, a member of two feltmaker organisations and the Southern Highlands Textile and Fibre Network. I have attended various short-term textile related courses and am experienced in a variety of techniques deftly used to create original works. As a regular exhibitor my works have been purchased for wear here and overseas.
