Summary

My great love is painting birds and incorporating them into my paintings. My main medium is watercolour but I also paint with acrylics. I am inspired by the Australian landscape and its birdlife.

  • About

My style of painting is fairly traditional. I like to portray my bird subjects in realistic surroundings, so the Australian bush is usually featured. I am a keen birdwatcher and photographer and am always on the lookout for new subjects to paint.

My watercolours are mainly painted on watercolour paper, but I also love painting on watercolour canvas. As a member of the Australian Society of Miniature Art (NSW), I paint miniatures in watercolour and acrylic with some as small as 2 x 2cm.

  • Biography

I moved to Cairns in 1979. I have been painting professionally and exhibiting since 1980 and was represented by several galleries in Cairns and Port Douglas.

In 1999 to 2001, I was artist-in-residence at the Radisson Treetops Resort, Port Douglas and at Silky Oaks Lodge, Mossman, Queensland,

In 1999 and 2014, I was selected to exhibit in the prestigious Birds in Art Exhibition at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in, Wisconsin, U.S.A. Both paintings were purchased by the museum.

I am a member of the Australian Society of Miniature Art (NSW) and in June 2016, I moved from Sydney to Burrawang in the NSW Southern Highlands.
