The animals and environment around me influence and inspire my work. I am basically realist but enjoy stretching the boundaries within this. I work in gouache, ink acrylic and mixed media.

About
I work mainly in gouache or mixed media on very smooth and heavy watercolour paper but also work in acrylics on canvas. The natural world inspires my work. I vary my style to reflect the subject that I’m painting – whatever it takes to get the image I want to convey. Literally, often hands into the painting. Other times the finest lines to illustrate a miniature. I love the challenge of the miniature and creating a story within a painting and enjoy illustration work.

Biography
In 1998 and 2000 I was selected to exhibit with media cartoonists in Sydney and Wollongong City Gallery for Amnesty International. In 2002 I completed a Diploma in Fine Art at Moss Vale TAFE receiving the Institute Award for Fine Art and in 2003 completed an illustration course at Sturt in Mittagong. In 2005 I was invited to produce work for the Goulburn Regional Gallery’s “Waterworks” Exhibition. I have produced illustrations for books and magazines in Australia and the US and private painting commissions.
