  • About

As a practicing mask artist with a focus on theatre work but have exhibited here and overseas with art masks, my work is in several collections and has been used in professional film and stage work. Influenced by European and Asian mask techniques.

I work in all mediums preferring plastics and paper over wood and ceramic. They can be either highly decorative and ornate or earthy and tribal.

I do not do "horror masks" and avoid part masks.

I do mask work as art for the face and spiritual presence for contemplation, am currently involved in research for the deeper meaning of mask, and am the artistic director of the Phoenix Theatre in Coniston & Theatre Visage Co.

  • Biography

I have studied under mask master August Montreux, theatre training with Jacques Lecoq and Peter Brook, my arts training is with East Sydney Art College, Wollongong University and various private art and mask based institutions and masters. I have run the Phoenix Theatre, Coniston for the last 10 years providing access to many performance based arts practitioners. We have a commitment to providing access to artists who would otherwise have limited possibilities for access to a venue and resources.
